Reaching Asians With An Asian Voice
Dear MEF:
The story of Zaccheus ends with Jesus telling him “Today salvation has come to this house” followed by the famous verse; “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) Where we live in central Iowa there is many sycamore trees, which helps remind me of the story of Zaccheus in the Bible.
There is one well known sycamore tree in the center part of the City of Ames (home of IA State Univ) which is referred to sometimes as the “Grandaddy of all Sycamores”. Its unique presence and status is photographed and even painted on canvas, because of its prominent beauty and position along the Lincoln Highway through Central Iowa. I relate this story of a tree only because the Bible ties a sycamore tree to the story of Jesus seeking even a hated tax gatherer like Zaccheus.
Jesus is still seeking the lost today throughout Asia and through the Asia School of Evangelism (ASE) in Asian countries such as South Korea. Our central leader there is Rev .Uishin Yoo who we featured in our August letter. As he has recently been transferring his ministry there, five men/wives have been trained and placed in leadership to assume his various ministries.(II Tim 2:2) Below is illustration of that very encouraging transfer to what we refer to as second generation leadership in Asia and specifically South Korea..
This example has been the desire and prayer of the MEF Board in all our related Asian Countries. We are currently struggling with our long standing ASE in India. Would you commit to pray with us for the ASE Training in India to continue with committed leadership and trainers, that love and obey the Lord. We thank you abundantly.
Seeking the Lost,
Norm Luiken for MEF Board
