Rev. L. H.

With his parents, he fled his Chinese homeland and Mao’s revolution in 1949.  L.H. came to ASE in 1979 as an experienced Christian radio broadcaster, yet first accepted Christ while in the program.  His eloquent Mandarin and warm evangelistic heart have made him “Pastor of the Air” over Trans World Radio.  Their broadcasts reach from North China to Indonesia, an area that includes one-fourth of the world’s population.  L.H. lives in Hong Kong now after his wife died of cancer in 2001.
He says of his vast radio audience,  “They are simply seeking the truth about Jesus”.

Rev. J.M.

His father died when he was two, and his mother, brother and first wife died during his 20 years as an English professor.  “I have learned to praise God in sorrow”, he says, “and to let Him guide me through this tempestuous world.”  Today, J.M. is remarried and has a daughter.  He graduated from the 1984 ASE program.  This wise, gifted man and leader of an ASE center in South India has trained over 600 village workers who minister over a large area — sometimes under threat from hostile religious groups.  Their numerous Fellowship Centers now serve several  thousand converts from over 100 villages.

Rev. C.R.

He was the top buyer for his father’s tobacco firm at the time he accepted Christ while reading the Gospel of John.  C.R. was disowned, and later fled persecution to another island.  There he assisted in pastoring a small church until he came to ASE in 1977.  The Billy Graham Association honored him in 1983 for his work as a national evangelist.
Today, from his ASE training center, this warm and capable family man, teacher and evangelist leads a diverse ministry.  One of his goals: an ASE center on each of Indonesia’s ten major islands.
